Was anybody else besides me saddened by the death of the lizard baby? I felt so sorry for it.

Well, if it hadn't died, then there wouldn't be the plot point where they discover in the autopsy a hybrid bacteria in the corpse and realize that it could be used as a weapon to finally kick the lizards off our planet.

It was both tragic and hysterical at the same time. It was tragic because it was a baby dying, but it was hysterical because it was the cheapest looking alien that (as a child)I had ever seen. Really, with the huge budget that V The Final Battle had they couldn't do better than that?
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

That's V: The Final Battle, NOT Kenneth Johnson's original masterpiece.

Not really.
If I were to point to a single point where the original V started to fall apart it was when that muppet crawled out of Robin Maxwell's vagina.

I was angered by the clear racism of it! Sure, the "green" baby dies, and the white baby lives. What's up with that?

Oh, absolutely. That was a very moving sequence.
