When Martin spoke of the Visitors being defeated once before by another alien race I got the impression that they may have been a factor in future storylines had the TV Series of V had gone into a second season.I have not read a the "V" books but does any of them involve or reveal who this alien enemy of the Visitors was?

They were referred to as "The Alliance". That story arc was dropped like a bad habit. Nothing came of it. Later on there was a reference to an entity called Zon. May have been a revolutionary from The Visitors home world. His followers were killed. Zon must have been truly a threat to The Leader, and his people.
