First off I like Ford. Had a big ol' Crown Victoria. It was my pimp car. Had no real problems with it. Except parts cost. Anyway, the pinto wasn't a horrible subcompact it just suffered from design flaws. Seriously flammable flaws. In addition to the horribly placed gas tank, leaky fuel system, the tranny caused some big problems. And what's the deal? If they could afford that big house and that sporty red Jag, why couldn't they have got something less craptastic to drive for a second car?
