I just watched the end of this film. It was the first time I had a chance to see it.
But the mother, Donna finally fights Cujo to the death (apparently) by repeatedly hitting him with a baseball bat, until the bat breaks and the dog is impailed with the broken-off handle. Then she finds the policeman's revolver, uses it to break the rear window of the Pinto, gets Tad, and carries him into the house. She carried him using both arms. I don't recall her carrying the revolver too.
Then, after she lays the boy on the table and administers CPR on him, Cujo is back to life and attacking her one last time. She grabs the gun from the table and kills Cujo.
Did she actually carry the gun from the car to the table?

I haven't watched the scene closely in a while but want to say the gun isn't on her person, no.
