The lady at the party who wants to talk about Emma's cancerI can understand how her being a nutritionist may be relevant to Emma's situation, but why would Ticketron be helpful?
I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!

I get that. But I always thought, silly as it may sound, it was kinda like she was saying, "Hey, if you want some good seats to a concert, my husband can get'em. I'll do that for ya cause I know you're sick."

Yes - it was kind of a parody of political correctness, or in this case maybe spiritual correctness.

Her telling Emma that she's a nutritionist had nothing to do with Emma having cancer. She was making the same small talk she would make with ANYBODY at a party - what her job is, and what her husband's job is. That's what makes it so funny. She starts out, "Patsy tells us you have cancer" with the same tone as if she was saying, "Patsy tells us you are in the PTA", as if Emma having cancer was just another thing to make small talk about. Remember Emma told Patsy, "tell them it's OK to talk about THE CANCER!" This lady just took it a little too far.
You must be the change you seek in the world. Gandhi
