Debra Winger apparently didnt get along with pretty much everyone on the sets of her movies..It has been reported she had a pretty hefty coke habit which contributed to her erratic behavior..She was right on the threshold with one foot in the door of being the "It" actress and I think her behavior put the kibosh on her career advancing.

Winger apparently craved attention any way she could get it.
"Somewhere along the line the world has lost all of its standards and all of its taste."

I believe I read Winger was coming off a cocaine addiction and very erratic.

Sounds like Debra Winger did not get along with pretty much anybody in her days, she even admits as much.

Shirley MacLaine's memoir (I think it's called 'My Lucky Stars'?) goes into great detail about the tension that was present between the two actresses. It sounded like Debra Winger could be a pain in the neck sometimes. However, that book is dedicated to all of the axes Shirley MacLaine had to grind with a lot of her co-stars, so maybe Shirley MacLaine has a hard time getting along with a lot of people.

There are numerous reports about the actors not gettign along personally. Still, I think each of them respected the other as actors.
