Barbra faced a year of nasty lies in the press before she filmed one shot of "Yentl". Once she started production she got bad press because she Produced, Co-wrote, directed and starred in a film. Men did this for years and theydid not get any bad presds for it. Barbra on the other hand has always been treated bad by the press.
When the filmed it got mixed reviews. Today I beg everyone to see it again. When you do you will see that Barbra did a great job. The film is excellent. The film deserves to be called A CLASSIC

I think people love to attack Barbra and I don't understand why. I think "Yentl" is a great film. I think the DVD is great and it is well worth buying. People have to remember that this was Barbra's first film as a director. She did a GREAT JOB. She should be proud of the film..
