Yeah, in the U.S. Caitlin has a "Southern" accent; by way of Texas I believe. And hers is particularly high pitched.
I always get a kick out of hearing dubs from other countries. Sometimes it's a perfect match, and at others, as you pointed out, it's so different that it changes the personality of the character entirely. It's why I've always preferred subtitles to dubs.

Just saw Airwolf in Englisch for the first time. I was shocked how squeaky and high pitched Caitlins voices was. In German her voice is much deeper and she sounds tougher than in the original. That voice changes her character quite a bit.
And just for the records In Germany Stringfellow Hawke and Leroy Jethro Gibbs from NCIS share the same voice.

Oh yeah, there are still a number of good episodes in seasons 2 & 3, and some of them do get serious. But there is a distinct tonal shift in the series after the introduction of Caitlin. Season 1 felt very much like a TV version of Clint Eastwood's
Firefox
. Seasons 2 & 3 skewed closer to something like
The A-Team
, though not quite as campy.

I thought all three seasons of airwolf had there relative share of dark themed episodes, it's just that the first season was more in depth (plot/story and character wise) and more serious therefore felt darker. I'll never forget the episode in season 2 where Dom's kid dies, and her mom ranks him out at the funeral. Jeez that was heavy as hell - and to top it off a guy comes over to Dom the next day and says "your ex wife has been beaten to death" - could've just said "she was killed" but the episode had to go the extra mile haha.
I am Djour Djilios. Could you spell that please? I don't think so. Try it with a "D".

The first season more or less keeps the darker and more serious tone of the pilot movie. It isn't until season 2 that it escewed the darker, Cold War Cloak and Dagger stuff for a lighter tone. Still a number of solid episodes in seasons 2 and 3, but overall season 1 is far superior IMO.

It was surprisingly dark and violent.
So, you see, both Dunn and I were under Oveur, even though I was under Dunn.
