She clearly didn't make any effort to get into the role, I think maybe she didn't have time to get into the role so maybe she just winged it. Either way her cleavage was amazing.

I have to agree with you. She tried hard, but she was terribly miscast. She looked exactly like what she was: A 20th Century NY suburban girl trying to act like a girl living in 18th Century Vienna. Not very convincing at all.

She was supposed to be annoying and of "average at best" intelligence. I always thought the portrayal was intentional. I also think physically, right down to the boobs, is what Constance was described to look like in real life.

she's not that bad but definitely the weaker among the cast.. her first scene was probably the only one i liked

I agree with the "wanna"s. That should have been corrected.
At first I thought she sounded horrible but she really grew into the role and became more firey as we saw the relationship develop. By the end I thought she stood out and was very good in her role. Quite dynamic.

The only thing I objected to with Berridge is that she sounded like she came directly from Hollywood. She slurred words or would say "wanna" instead of want to, etc. I think Meg Tilly would have been better, different and better.

I don't know what you guys are watching, but I thought she was very good. Considering the limited material she had.
I doubt Meg Tilly could have done any better or even equaled the performance Elizabeth did.

Hmmm. I thought she was very memorablein a good wayas Costanze. I thought she made a good counterpart to Hulce's Mozart. Never really considered people might have a problem with her performance, but obviously there's quite a few of you out there.

Me too. I can't imagine Meg Tilly in the role with her meek voice, but Milos Forman seemed infatuated with her.
I think Elizabeth Berridge pulled off a decent performance. Not as remarkable as the two leading men, but then she was allowed less space to maneuver.

I thought Berridge did a fine job. Honestly, I have trouble picturing Meg Tilly in the role. It seems like she would come across as too harsh.
