It wasn't a con. If you were paying attention to credible spurces and not just sensationalist media, from the beginning, they addressed what they knew and didn't know, and everything they did know is basically what played out.
We knew the disease affected mostly immunocompromised and elderly people. Flattening the curve by social distancing and masking, then later vaccinations was about keeping the hospitals from being overrun.
Selfish assholes caused a lot of unnecessary deaths. Not only did that affect covod patients, but people going to the hospital for other ailments because they were stretched thin.

Y2K hysteria had much less impact on the world. I don't know that I would call covid a scam since the virus was real, but the reaction to it by businesses and politicians has been showed to be questionable at the least. We deserve some investigations.
