I am watching this movie now and DAMN those are definitely some big glasses. I know big glasses were the style in the 80s but jeeze!!!!! They sure do look like swimming goggles, haha.

Those were excessively huge but large glasses were in style in the 80's Hair was bigger so it all worked out
