I loved that courtroom scene where all those mobsters started singing 'We'll Meet Again' to Willie, the Grass, indicating they were going to have the last laugh. There isa brief shot of Willie (Stamp's) face and it so evinces fear it's amazing. When I watched the running commentary, Frears, I think, said that was based on an actual British court case where the defendants sang that song to the stool pigeon as he finished his testimony. I think that's one of the most ball zy things I've ever come across. It's like admitting you did the act (and that you intend to commit another crime murder) before the judge/jury renders their verdict. They figured the stool pigeon's testimony was so damning that they had nothing to lose.

As career criminals probably with previous form (records), they knew Willie was helping put hem away for years. Willie's nervous tie straightening shows they have rattled him. He knows one day there will be that reunion.
