Just seen it on tv here in the UK and its still my favourite indy out of the 4. The pacing is perfect and doesnt get trapped in the somewhat repetitive nature of RoTLA. Its pure fun from beginning to end accompanied with great action and a interesting lore in the backstory of the Sankara stones. Plus I think its the most hands on Indy adventure there is. You see him do a lot of stuff without using guns: grappling, climbing, swinging, hand to hand combat, sword fighting. Its great, dont get the hate for it.

Raiders is best but I would say that Temple is more entertaining. Crystal Skulls was completely average and forgettable while Last Crusade was a complete insult to my intelligence. As far as I'm concerned the Indy franchise ends with Temple.

TOD is not the BEST Indy, but I agree with the OP in that it IS a fun ride! Non stop action from beginning to end with some comedy thrown in for good measure (worked for me all this time). I can see how some got annoyed by Willie & Short Round, but never bothered me any.

I get what you're saying. While the Original is how we meet and get to know Indy, TOD is a more rounded, Confident Harrison Ford PLAYING Indy. He's wittier, polished and just more comfortable IMO And the result is a great performance. Not taking away from Raiders, I just feel the same as you.

Willie was annoying as beep all, and if they'd told the Goonies kid to not yell ALL his lines, it would've been MUCH more tolerable.
Because of those two things, Raiders was FAR superior and in all honesty a more interesting story.
The best Indiana Jones was the story that FOCUSED ON INDIANA the MOST, hence Raiders. Temple had too much kid/annoying woman, and Crusade had the dad. Granted Raiders had Marion, but she wasn't annoying at all and there was a lot of scenes where she wasn't even in it.
