That's my only complaint about this movie. At times there is so much John Williams music going on in the background it takes me out of the storythere's a bit too much scoring going on. Every scene, pretty much, is punctuated with mood appropriate music. I wish they would have pulled back a little on the music, it's a bit too much.
Other than that, I love this movie.

This is one of my favorite scores of all time. You can complain about Willie and Short Round all you want but John Williams nailed it.

The music is AWESOME thoughJW was top of his game at this time and this one doesn't dissapoint. Although I admit, its OVERSCORED in parts. One scene that stands out is when Indy is taking the rocks from the Mula Ram Templehe puts one of the rocks near the other rocks and it glows.queue SUPER LOUD vocal score! hahahaha! I still LOVE it though!

I would argue that the music saves this movie actually. It's quite beautiful in a lot of places and very thematic overall.

If you watch some of the color films from the 40s and even the 30s, there's either no music or music all the time. The Indy films are supposed to be old fashioned filmswhen movies were movies, so to speak.
