I just watched the movie with the commentary, and I have to say it's one of the best commentaries I've heard. Often when there are two people, one will overshadow the other. But in this case they each had a lot to say and responded to the other guy very nicely. And they got into interesting topics like the process of acting, the process of directing, and the interaction between the two.
Highly recommended!

Seriously? They made a DVD commentary for this film? I watched it on DVD myself, however the disk I saw was a bare-bones version: just a scene-selection, and that's it. If there's a version with commentary I'd really love to listen to it. Is it on any American disk or is it only for European disks?

A well-done commentary can be just as enjoyable as the film itself. Another good one one
, I should say, since there are two is The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

All the commentaries with Carpenter and Kurt Russell are excellent
Well, the one they did for Escape from New York might disprove that - Carpenter is great - detailed, coherent and sensible - but Russell just laughs his head off non-stop

All the commentaries with Carpenter and Kurt Russell are excellent, probably the best commentaries I have ever heard, you can tell those tell are good friends and loved working with each other. Good thing the Kurt and Carpenter movies have huge cult followings now and are so appreciated. I would love to hear the "Starman" commentary just to hear about the experiences with Jeff and John making that movie. I have taken the road that bus stop was located on a few times, wish I knew it was shot there so I could look for it.

Carpenter has the best commentaries. This is about the only one I've never heard (oh, and Mouth of Madness). The Thing commentary was great too.
