I don't thinks so. Otherwise she would have had an awesome singing career.

It's very much a Bonnie Tyler type delivery however it was done.

Listen to 10-9-8 by Face to Face.Laurie Sargent certainly sounds a ton like "Ellen Aim" and the members of Face to Face played the Attackers.
From Wikipedia
In the 1984 movie Streets of Fire, the fictional band Ellen Aim and The Attackers, supposedly headed by Diane Lane, actually consisted of the male members of Face to Face, with Laurie, billed as being a member of "Fire Incorporated," providing lead vocals on Ellen's "Never Be You" and "Sorcerer" and harmony on the Jim Steinman-penned song "Nowhere Fast."

That was Holly Sherwood singing, no?
"Two songs written by Jim Steinman were part of the soundtrack: 'Tonight Is What It Means to Be Young' and 'Nowhere Fast,' both performed by 'Fire Incorporated' with Holly Sherwood as lead vocal".

Laurie Sargent of Face to Face did the singing, tho there was somw studio work to make the voice sound closer to Diane Lane's speaking voice.

She rocked that stage. Awesome movie.
Totally agree! One of the dumbest Golden Raspberry award nominations ever, would have to be that handed to Diane Lane for her playing of Ellen Aim in this very fine film.

She did not do the vocals. It was a manufactured voice, created from more than one singer. If you want to hear Diane sing, check out Ladies & Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains.
