Most people attending probably had no idea of the criminal activity Epstein was up to. They knew him from his big financial donations and charity work and were just going to the parties because other big names were attending. They were a hot social event people wanted to go to. The actual island was where his charity was headquartered and it's not unusual for charities to hold big events to try to attract donations. Assuming it was all some big underage sex party is just stupid.
