I absolutely love Gene Wilder! This is one of my all-time favourite films! but there's a couple of things I didn't get.
Firstly, why did Charlotte do that sarcastic clap in the lift with Buddy after he 'rescued' Teddy from the surprise party and why did Buddy look all flustered?
Secondly, right at the end of the film, why did Deedee start crying after seeing Teddy on the window ledge on the news? Did she figure out he was having an affair?
Please help!
Karen: "I'm not good or real. I'm evil and imaginary".

Charlotte clapped as she was a bit peeved off that Teddy had been dishonest and that Teddys mate told a load of lies to cover for him also. Was kind of saying "what a great bunch of dishonest blokes you are". I reckon Charlottes husband had cheated on her and she was evening up the score.
Buddy was flustered cos of the high pressure situation he found himself in, and lied his arse off and put on a real performance.
Teddy already suspecting something was up finally gets total confirmation there is big problems.
I reckon Teddy got his ass kicked by Didi but sorted himself out after his midlife crisis

Ok, I can see what you are saying, but why would he kill himself with a robe on outside someone elses apartment building? I'm thinking DeeDee Knew or at least had a hunch he was cheating.

I've always wondered the samething about the end. No one seems to know the answer of that on this board though.
