I watched this when it first aired and loved it. I had really incredible memories of it being great. I'm watching it again now, and so far the first few episodes really aren't holding up well. The acting is awful. It's so hammy. I was 11 when I first saw it, so I'm supposing I didn't have a lot to compare it against. But then maybe it's just the first episodes that are bad. I remember liking the shadow man episode, and gramma, based on the stephen king story. So, hopefully it gets better.

I can't believe how many people are enthusiastic about this show. I think there's not a single negative review on Amazon (not counting the complaints about DVD quality). I guess it must have a lot to do with nostalgic feelings of people who liked this back in the day. I haven't seen this as a kid, neither had I seen the original series until a couple of years ago. But as much as I loved the b/w original right away, I was extremely disappointed by this revival. Where is the eerie atmosphere? Where are the surprising conclusions? It's just one bland episode after another. And the terrible special effects don't help either. I know it's a TV show from the 80's, but even the effects in the original series look less dated. Terrible. Glad I was able to resale the box.
