<p dir="auto">I got the impression that the creators were wanting to give a nod to Night Gallery because this series was quite dark, similar to Night Gallery.  It even had multiple stories in one episode with numerous black out comedic segments, something that networks still had not taken to even by the mid 80s.  This is what NBC didn't like about NIght Gallery.</p>
