I am becoming an IMDB forum cynic, because I opened this thread totally expecting someone to be complaining the movie was not realistic or had a huge plot hole because there would really only be ONE Mechanic in a place like that!

One thing I didn't like about that scene was it portayed mechanics as bing dumb. And I'm not a mechanic.

no the dark haired uptight guy in Funny Farm that gets the fish hook is Brad Sullivan, he played on Slapshot among other comedies.

I saw Burton Gilliam refereeing a fight several years ago. My brother, who with me would watch the Gilliam scene in the hangar over and over and over and over, called me and told me. I checked it out, sure enough it was him.
"That's what I always ask him what are you doin' up there, you doin' some stunt flyin' or somethin'? - LOL. Throw in the hilarious gestures.

In all seriousness: WHen you look up an actor on IMDB there is a field at the bottom that reads, "ACTOR & _____" and you fill in the blank and will show all the movies where both actors were both in. For example if you look up Bill Paxton and fill in Arnold Schwarzenegger (or vice versa) Commmando, The Terminator, and True Lies would come up
The same should be done for movies: you enter two movies and it shows you which actor(s) were in both.

Yeah, Burton Gilliam was hilarious in both "Blazing Saddles" and "Fletch"! In fact the special features on the DVD indicate that Chevy's fake teeth were created for that scene because Burton Gilliam had those big choppers!
