Gail asks, "Do you mind if I practice some more, I have to work on my ground stroke", right after Fletch gives her the name "John Cock-toe-stolen" (I think this is closest to what he says, english-phonetically speaking (actual phonetics would be something like 'kaak-tou-stoolen').
But.. how can this be?
She hasn't even STARTED practicing yet! We just saw her pour tennis balls into the machine, and Fletch interrupted her RIGHT after she had performed this function.
The only reasonable explanation is that she practiced before, then ran out of balls, and then put some more balls into the machine.
But in that case, she must've known that John wasn't there yet to see her practice, so it's still a bit illogical - would you use "some more" to someone, who hasn't even seen you practice in the first place? No. You would say "a bit" or something similar. "Do you mind if I practice a bit?"
"Some more" sort of implies that both of them KNOW that she has already practiced before this. But this is clearly impossible!
So, what's going on here? Why did she say 'some more'? I'd like a 'in-movie-Universe-explanation' for this, not 'the writer didn't think this through' (this is the explanation for 99% of similar occurrences in movies - the writers NEVER seem to think things through! GRR! ANNOYING!)
