nowadays they literally remake every classic movie and just change some things about it. and every other movie is a remake at least in the '80s the knew that to make a movie remake worthwhile to an original movie from the '50s or '60 or '70s they needed to change enough things enough, key parts of the story and main character and update it enough to warrant it existing.
hell nowadays they'll remake a movie made just 10 years ago and call it good so the special effects dont even upgrade. or they'll remake a movie from the '80 that doesn't need to be remade bc the se are good enough and fit the movie perfectly.
they've remade so many movies in the last 15 years that now they have to start remaking tv shows and even remaking their own(modern) new movie like cabin fever. bc god forbid they use their creativity or imagination in creating their own movie.
