Gotta disagree. Saw on the big screen during its theatrical release, and had to actively ignore the music so I could focus on the film. That is far too much energy to expel just to watch a film - and I love the film. I also like Alan Parsons, but not this particular combo. If AP had stuck with the theme and mood found in "Old and Wise" I think the music would have boosted the ease of watching, and help the film have a wider fanbasd. AP is talented, but pieces he wrote were a disservice to the film, and to himself.

Not asking for period music. I am simply asking for GOOD music. In particular, no set pieces that amount to a music video for a trash pop song. Actual background music and a score that supports mood and action. Not rock. Not pop. More like Lord of the Rings.
I pity anyone whose musical taste does not reject this movie's score after at most two viewings, being generous.
This movie would be a fantasy classic were it not for the unbearably lame music.

I love the score and it's one of my all time favorites. I need to find a CD of it one of these days. TBH I don't think the movie would have worked as well without it. Yes it's kind of goofy but so is the movie but it has a charm that can't be beat.
Parsons did a great job and it's a shame he never did more movies.

I very much enjoy the music of Ladyhawke. The synthesizer music works great with the orchestral and together they produce strong adventurous excitements and empowering emotions that complement the movie.

I can appreciate a score that isn't exactly true to the period a film is set in - but I'll admit that all the synth parts are distracting and very out of place in this film. Nevertheless, most of the film score sounds OK to my ears (still needed to be more appropriate, though).

The music is really inappropriate for the film and I am surprised it was chosen. It doesn't ruin the film but the movie would have been so much better with a suitable soundtrack.

No. Cant do. Worst soundtrack EVER. The movie as such is great but they must have been drunk when they added the music.

The music helps with the over all feel or ambiance in a movie - it's a highly important part of a film. Change the music you change the ambiance completely! Imagine watching the famous shower scene from Psycho with music like "It's a small world" - now you have a comical feel to that otherwise terrifying scene. Or what if Norman killed her to a hip hop beat? Get real - anyone who enjoys films knows how important the movies score is.
The music in Ladyhawke sound like a cheap science fiction film - or like some kind of an 80's teenage comedy.
The score does ruin this wonderful film. But it is just my opinion.
