Man, I have no idea what you're talking about. People get stabbed and gut shot left and right. There wasn't nearly this much violence in just about every Western I've seen, especially ones from the 50s. The kill count would make a Friday the 13th film envious. Maybe you saw an edited copy.

Understand, but it still holds up for me 30 yrs later. The soundtrack is actually not bad as it's reminiscent of The Big Country and to some extent the Magnificent Seven. Not as good as those by any means, but reminiscent.
