She was a 4th year medical student in the midst of a clinical rotation in a hospital- probably internal medicine. Thought it was interesting that she was schtuping her attending which in this day and age would be a set up for a sexual harassment suit. A 4th year student back then wouldn't rate a pager- hence the phone call at the restaurant. I remember a resident telling me as a 4th year student " for all the respect you're going to get here you might as well wear a beanie and sell ice cream".

That's never made sense to me. Kirby says that she was a senior when he was a freshman, so that would make her a 4th year med student. So not only is she not a doctor yet but they made it seem like she was in a position of authority, like when the hospital called her during her lunch with Kirby.

I thought the same thing. I assumed she wasn't a doctor yet but worked for a doctor, like an intern or something.
