People as critics are so beep stupid. Movies are not meant to be a real reality of what really happens in life. It supposed to suspend belief and that is what makes these movies are supposed to take people away from life problems. So stupid to look at movies and say they suck because it isn't perfect of what a life should be from a movie. Man humans are stupid critics. I love this movie for the actions and enjoyment of watching it. I could careless if it is actually real or not in real life that it would not happen this way. I can't stand that people have to be so picky.

That is explained by the fact that the movie was HIGHLY cut to get the R rating with the MPAA because of the violence. Apparently it led to a lot of plot holes.

Well, that depends on your perception of what constitutes a good or a bad movie.
It's a competently shot movie and the action scenes are well staged, and the production values are generally solid. It manages to be consistently entertaining and it moves at a swift pace. So if you look at it like this, then sure, it's definitely not a bad movie.
However, the film is definitely not well written and the leaps in logic are hilarious. The plot (or lack thereof) could not be more dumb and the characters are paper thin cardboard cut outs. The villains are supposed to EEEEEVIL but it's pretty hard to take them seriously. The "night slasher" has a whole army following him, but why? He hardly seems like the charismatic cult leader you'd need for a crazed death cult. Instead he's a tall muscular guy in his late 20s who looks like he'd be more at home playing the hero in a cheap action B-movie. Not to mention he doesn't profess any coherent ideology to even attempt to justify his actions. I know most serial killers don't have any ideology but they act alone. This guy has a whole god damn army behind him, and he's not even charismatic. The "we kill the weak so the strong will survive" is laughable and seems like a cheap afterthought added late on in an attempt to give some semblance of explanation for the villain's actions, but it falls totally flat. The whole film is like a right wing fantasy that could only have been made in the Reagan-era.
It's a great laugh, but it's not one to be taken seriously.

Really? A ridiculous action film with Denzel Washington in the lead (Ricochet) isn't exactly loved, and as silly as it is, it's a far better film than Cobra.
"Cobra" is a camp classic and many people do love it, but not because it's a genuinely good movie.
