<p dir="auto">If this has been asked before I apologize. Burt Gordon was the gambler who told Eddie at the end of The Hustler that he had better not ever walk into a big time pool hall again, which is something that Eddie did in this film. I've always wondered why the writers never accounted for this and it could have been handled very easily by a mention of Burt's death or mending fences with Eddie over the years.</p>
