It's a pity this movie didn't get nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Helena Bonham Carter and Best Achievement in Costume Design. Both were superb.
I don't think it was a must, but I wouldn't put it behind them to nominate Cary Elwes in the category of Best Actor (Supporting Actor?).
It's sad to me that at least the first two weren't nominated, particularly with Carter. She was so natural, so connected to everything she did. What a brilliant, perfect performance. Sad that this movie didn't get ANY nominations.

Bonham Carter was great (no surprise), but I was really surprised by Elwes' performance. Wasn't expecting him to be so good! My thoughts about his career are that his management team didn't do a good job of getting him decent roles (with a few exceptions, of course).
