This got me thinking about famous and/or featured COE trucks in TV and movies:

1. Goliath from 'Knight Rider.'
2. The rampaging brown Jimmy at the beginning of 'Beverly Hills Cop' (one of my all-time favorite chases).
3. The Cowboy's Ford in 'Armed and Dangerous.'
4. The Black Dog in 'Black Dog.'
5. The Buzzard Excavator in 'Mad Max: Fury Road.'
6. BJ's red-and-white KW Aerodyne in 'BJ and the Bear.'
7. The Freightliner wrecker that T1000 commandeers in 'Terminator 2.'
8. Pig Pen's Mack Cruiseliner in 'Convoy.'

I love Cab over engine trucks. Flat Nose trucks always make me think of Optimus Prime and maximum overdrive.

The production of cabover tractors gradually wound down as more and more states lifted their legal limits on vehicle length. Most truckers I've talked to commented that conventional rigs are much more comfortable to drive, so if they had their choice, they'd rather have a conventional. About the only demand for cabovers these days is for trucks that spend a lot of time on city streets, where their shorter length is an advantage for maneuvering.

Where I work they use old trucks to ferry big loads of pipe from different yards and they have some old cab overs still around. No longer used for the freeways though.

I'm a truck driver and yes I agree. I saw one a couple months ago where I work and it brought back so many memories of cabovers from back in the day.
