<p dir="auto">I actually think that as a movie it's only so-so… the characters and plot are rather forgettable, even dreary.  But Chris Mendes' breathtaking cinematography and Morricone's beautiful score make it seem like a better film than it is.</p>

<p dir="auto">Heard it LIVE a few weeks ago by Ennio himself. It's now (30 years later) one of my favorites soundtracks. I had tears when I heard the choir perform live.</p>
