Taylor arrives in September 1967.
While cleaning the latrines, another soldier says he has 92 days left and is leaving on April 17. That puts the story in mid-January 1968.
But a moment later, Taylor says he still has 332 days left. If it's a 365-day tour, that puts the story in October 1967.

Who can say? Script continuity problem, most likely. Films and even literature regularly have more blatant inconsistency than this. If it was January 1968, they would be about to experience the Tet offensive, and I don't recall it being mentioned, although I could be wrong. If the events are not during Tet, then the earlier date is the more likely.
