Does anybody know where to obtain a copy on DVD ? This is a great film and worth owning. When I tried the index at a large DVD retailer for movies, I had no luck, neither under "Tampopo" or it's international title "Dandelion".
Interestingly, I also had no luck finding "A Taxing Woman", also another Itami masterpiece.
Anyone got any ideas ?

Would be news to me and this being an RC2 DVD, it's most definitely gonna run on UK players. Why don't you just go ahead and try ordering it?

I was told that you can't buy a German release of a DVD and get it shipped into the UK because of the different rules of certificating a film.
Any truth in this?

I saw this at at a Japanese cultural studies class, and our sensei told us that there is a problem with the availability of Juzo Itami's films because of the mysterious and possibly scandalous circumstances surrounding his death. A double tragedy, his death and the suppression of his work.

I have the DVD, bought it a few days ago and obviously it was released only recently; it's a region 2 DVD with English and German subtitles plus dubbed German version - if that is of any help to you?

EDIT: Clicking on the DVD info on imdb sent me to Amazon which offer "4 new from $85.64 - 20 used from $33.49 - 1 collectible from $97.02", boy, that's madness! My region 2 DVD was 14,95 Euros (it has no extras).
