I had to take a break in either 1 or 2. Weird how it became a favorite show because months passed before I picked it back up. I was motivated by wanting to see the Borg, who always looked like sci-fi versions of Hellraiser's cenobites.
I wonder if you would've enjoyed 3 more if you took a break sooner.

yea the finale was great, but I was a bit annoyed that the finale was part 1 and part 2 was the beginning of S4. so I kind of look at those episodes as a part of the transition into 4 rather than a core part of S3.
s3 wasn't as bad as 1 or 2, but I had to stop halfway through 3 due to boredom and take a break for like a month.
s4 started off with that banger 2 part and hasn't slowed down at all. every episode has been amazing so far.

You didn't like 3? 1 is definitely a slog. 2 is a little better, but I find Pulaski annoying and it still didn't get its footing, but 3 I remember being really good. I would think you at least liked its finale. One of the best eps of the series IMO.

If you can get past the first two seasons, which is not easy, TNG does get better.
But never as good as the best of TOS.

It really doesn't get good until Season Three, but Season Two is better than the first.
