Just re-watched this classic on my new 60" TV. What a fantastic experience.
Some thoughts:

just finished reading the original book too. Wow an interesting read, glad the film switched things to New Orleans & eliminated the nasty baby sacrifice stuff from the book - that was too much really

noticed Harry comes across the dog tag vase very early on in the movie (when he finds Margaret's corpse) but flickers past it LOL

what are his dog tags around Epiphany's neck when she's dead on the bed at the end? How did the dog tags get there so quickly when they were just at Margaret's apartment with Deniro in the previous scene?

the orgy scene we see glimmers of during the Epiphany sex scene - it's all white people devil worshippershinting at something from the book with the satanic ceremonies I think
By the way I've just made my own Angel Heart soundtrack by buying all the songs from the movie off iTunes and weaving them into the official CD release soundtrack. It's awesome, now I can feel like Harry Angel all the time
