I vaguely remember watching this movie back in the late 80s on HBO, but I could never remember the name of it.
Is there a scene at the beginning of the film where the killer picks up a hitchhiker at night? The woman tries to exit the moving car, but the window and door handles don't work?
It is a very creepy scene that has stayed with me for years, but I could never remember the name of the movie!

That whole sequence was positively nerve-wracking. That lady should have never let those two strangers into her house late at night.

Yes that is the one. very good movie, My favorite scene was when they go to the blonde womans house pretending to be ac repairman and well..you know the rest.
