What is a Wisconsin state trooper doing stopping the guys between St. Louis and Chicago? (Wisconsin is very much out of the way, and is not between Missouri and Illinois.)

Towards the end of the movie (most visible in the outdoor scene before they get a ride in the semi-truck back to Chicago), Del has a black eye, which is apparent through the rest of the film. How did he get the black eye? (I thought Neal punched him in the gut.)

If Del had rented a car, how did Neal get the rental agreement? How could both men have the keys to the same car? Neal should've realized at the point of renting the car that he no longer had his credit card.

Man, that'd be crazy. A four hour comedy may be a bit too much. But I would like to see them as deleted scenes on the side. Or maybe it can be released with both versions and viewers can choose which one.
So many stories, so little time.

I've read there's a possible 4hour cut if all the sources were put together. If JH was still alive we may have gotten this. Like with the special editions of Apocalypse Now, Dawn of The Dead 78 version, Rocky IV, Superman 2 Donner Cut.
Tell you what…When I send my ex-wife her money…you can lick the stamps.

It's like in Dumb and Dumber. Del drove them into the wrong state.

It's implied it could be the truck driver hit Del (he is paranoid). But in reality, it's from a deleted scene when Neal hits him after learning they've driven into Wisconsin.

I'll have to rewatch what exactly happened with the cards.
So many stories, so little time.
