David Spade and that stupid goof who played Mark Ratner on Fast Times!!!
I hate them! They added nothing great to the movie! They were the only that I disliked the movie, even though 4 is prob my favorite one.
To hell with David Spade and Mark Ratner !!!

Seeing them interact more with captain Harris would have given the movie an added bonus. Being a friend to him it was not right to say 'hey I think these guys want to talk to you'.
For no reason he got involved too.

I was blown away several years after seeing this about 100 times as a kid, to not seeing it for like 10 or 15 years, to David Spade being awesome on SNL, then finding out he was that skater kid so many years earlier! Brian Backer was good in this. There was that funny shot where he says a cheesy pickup line to some girl and she just walks away, and he just stands there, staring. I always got a kick out of that. Also, the skate boarding stuff was pretty cool to watch, especially when this movie was new.
