tom jane would be good based off the book. wyatt russell would be good if they wanted a younger guy-especially since the plot to the book is super similar to escape from new york, and the kid looks a LOT like his dad

From looking at the many responses you had, I don't think there would be much of a problem recasting Ben. I personally prefer the main lead to have a more James Bond physique where he is physically able but not looking like a roider. I've always preferred a hero who uses sharp problem solving against stronger and more aggressive opponents but done in a more believable way. For me, I'd be happy to see someone like Thomas Jane or Henry Cavill.
I'd be more concerned about the casting of the stalkers. Like I mentioned on another thread on this board, the easy route for the imposing villains would be to cast a bunch of has-been musclebound WWE 'wrestlers' like Glenn Jacobs, Bill Goldberg or Khali. Just because they've acted most of their life in a wrestling ring does not mean they can actually act. I cringed watching them in that Adam Sandler film.

Depends, if they remake the movie then maybe someone like Jason Statham, were-as if the new movie was more faithful to the original novel then someone like Edward Norton.

In any case, instead of a remake they should make a new and faithful adaptation of the book. This one had nothing to do with the novel other than the title and the protagonist's name.
