I disagree on many levels. I am a huge King fan, but the Bachman books are seriously piss poor.
"The Long Walk" is epic, though it could never be made decently into a movie. "Rage" is okay, but "The Running Man" is mediocre at best and "Roadwork" is arguably the worst thing King ever wrote.
Personally, I'd probably prefer this movie, like I'd prefer Maximum Overdrive to "Trucks" and Cujo to "Cujo."
This movie, like pretty much all of Arnold's 80s fare, is meant to entertain, period, and it succeeds at that for the most part.
It is replayed on EPIX all the time, and I still watch it when given the chance. It is entertaining throughout.
"Killian! Here is Sub-Zero! Now, just PLAIN zero!"
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Best line in the movie.

I like dumb fun, but this just plain dumb. Bad villains - really bad villains - bad action, bad jokes, and just a failure of a movie.
