Guys,
Someone to Watch Over Me is a very good fast-paced film about a married detective who falls in love with a prominent socialite he is assigned to protect after she witnessnes a murder. The formula has been done before, but here it is exceptionally done. The tight-pacing and directing blend masterfully with the hautingly beautiful musical score. I remember the promo when HBO first showed this film, probably around spring or summer of 1988 because the STWOM song was sung in the background and I remember it to this day! I just saw it last night, and would definitely see it again, even would consider buying the DVD.
The nightlife of New York never looked more mesorizing. The only drawback to the film is the storyline has been done many times before, but not as good as this. Powerful film.
Rating 8.5/10 B+
