<p dir="auto">You can also see the wires in the original DVD releases of Superman II, III, and Supergirl.<br />
Back in the day, instead of going frame by frame to paint out wires, they would process the film prints with a slightly softened focus; it wouldn't make the film blurry, but it would obscure very fine lines. This process wasn't done when they did the home video releases. After a time or two through the VCR, it isn't noticeable in a VHS, but on laserdisc (which shall rise again!) and DVD they stick out like sore thumbs.<br />
