<p dir="auto">Did it strike anyone else as odd that the union reps meeting with Gekko were people who actually worked for a living? At every placed I've worked at (that had unions) there would be about 2-3 layers of union management between them and someone like Gekko. It's sort of like a Hollywood fantasy where workers run the union (as far as administrative, negotiating, etc) on their spare time.<br />

<p dir="auto">Unless Blue Star was just about everything we saw on the screen, I don't see how those 3 people (who worked in the trenches) could represent all of Blue Star's labor. I mean, Carl's group was all the mechanics/maintenance people Blue Star had? That's pretty much impossible.<br />

<p dir="auto">The union reps came because of Bud. Gecko used Bud to get around the lawyers and management and speak directly to the union reps.</p>
