Alot of innocent people have been put in jail because of eyewitness testimony.

I've never had much faith in eyewitness testimony. Maybe people have better memories than I do and I've never witnessed a crime. Unless I knew the person committing the crime I don't think I could accurately identify the culprit beyond his hair color, maybe height (limited to "tall" or "short") and possibly race.

I think you're slightly overstating the importance of this technology. A needle in a hay stack would not be adequate to describe it. The rendering is what the guy "might" look like. There is no certainty that the rendering is accurate in any way. This guy wont get caught unless his DNA shows up on a database.

Wow, it's amazing what they can now do with forensics. We almost don't even need eyewitness testimony anymore.
