A longtime person of interest finally confessed and led authorities to the body:
As a Minnesotan, this case has fascinated me for years. A college classmate of mine who was about Jacob's age got into criminal psychology as a result of his abduction.

I hope not. The best death is a lingering old age spent in hopelessness, watching your body collapse slowly and daily before your own eyes, going blind, beep in your diapers because you can't control your anus, reduced to the contempt in prison doctor's eyes. Then you beg for the grave. Ten times better than prison justice, and totally free.
I completely agree. But in Heinrich's case he is still young at 53 so the likelihood of suffering like that is low. Free healthcare, free education, 3 meals a day,8+ hours a sleep a night.he is very likely to outlive his sentence of 20 yearsand come out healthier. Yuk.

Sad stuff it took them so long to get the guy and in the end he is only being sentenced to 20 years.
There is always the possibility that one of his fellow inmates will administer prison justice to him.

Many people will be of the opinion he stands a far greater chance of being committed to Hell after that.

^^^Indeed, but there is a good chance he will be committed to a psychiatric hospital for life upon being released.
Also of note, I briefly attended college not far from where he was abducted. A few years before I went there, a student disappeared and has never been found.
