I just saw this movie a few days ago. I liked it a lot. One thing in the 80's that really seemed to come into the public eye was addiction. It was then that self help groups started to form. I like how this movie went into what addictions do to people.

I have to agree this was a pretty good movie and is under rated on this site

Well, maybe there was a campaign for him but it just didn't work out. Did he get any other awards for this role, since that is what leads to an Oscar nod?

There is no justice to the fact that Keaton wasn't even nominated for the oscar for this role. Very powerful performance in a very powerful movie.

Great performances all around. But Keaton takes command of the movie and never lets go. Very convincing performance!

This is one of the most realistic depictions of the disease of addiction that I have ever scene, anchored by Keaton's powerhouse performance that should have earned him an Oscar nomination.

Great movie that really hits home with many of us. As a member of AA, I can relate to many of the experiences portrayed.
And yes, AA has been around since the 1930's

This is easily my favorite Michael Keaton movie, and probably his greatest role. I too enjoyed how the movie focused on what addiction did to people's lives, rather than simply concentrating on the physical repercussions.
