In the trivia section for this film is this item:
The production needed a song for the Johnny Squares music video sequence so they approached affiliate Warner Music, which came up with the rock group Guns N' Roses, who had an album coming out. The release date of the LP was moved up so that it would coincide with the release of this picture.

, almost a year before the release of this movie (
July 13, 1988
).
Secondly,
Appetite For Destruction
was released by
Geffen Records
. Don't know what Warner Bros. has to do with it.
