Someone mentioned the Cannery shopping center at Fisherman's Wharf, but I'm not sure that's the original location, unless they've redone the place.

If you look on Google Maps, I think the elevator is/was on the side where there's a pedestrian walk through. You see a concrete structure that looks likely to have been where the elevator is/was.
