Look I've followed her work even since Halloween and have much respectbut she quite simply is not funny at all.
She actually works better in comedies when she just plays the straight character (My girl 1 & 2)but trying to make her humourous will never work, and this film is certainly proof. She just can't do it. Frankly I think her best strengths are drama and horror. She can also play the sympathetic character quite well.
But she doesn't have the knack to play comedyand should avoid at all costs

she doesnt play the comedian, shes the sexy femme fatale
the events and characters surrounding her are the funny bits
besides she plays it for fun and does well

I agree that she's not funny in this. But like you sort of mentioned she becomes funny when she's a sympathetic character, in True Lies for instance she was hysterical. So she can do funny but she has to be in the right character. Wanda was an unsympathetic back stabbing b**** so here it wasn't funny.
