Second creepiest moment in the movie, right behind the moment when that clown is trying to lure the little girl out of the restaurant. Hands down.

Yes, this is definitely one of the scenes that contributes to the "Horror" part of a great "Horror Comedy".
This scene was one of the best and certainly well acted. Loved how John Vernon (Officer Mooney) put that quiet tone to his voice:
"Don't worry, Dave All we wanna do is kill ya."
The blood running down the corners of his mouth to look like the segments in a ventriloquist dummy's mouth was a nice touch too. Right along with the squishy sound made when the Klown pulled his blood covered hand out of Mooney's back. Perfection.
Another great creepy scene was when one of the Killer Klowns was hanging around outside the burger joint trying to lure the little girl outside. That was a really great atmospheric scene. Loved the background music during that part. It was perfect. It was a nice, silent pantomime right up until the part where the little girl tries to open the door and the Mother stops her.
sigh Why don't they make movies like this anymore?

I must say the film isn't scary but that scene is CREEPY as hell. Prime example of how lighting and makeup can go a long way on a little to no budget film.
